Tiger Aquatics Committees

Tiger Aquatics relies heavily on many committees to help run a successful program.  These committees are comprised of club volunteers and are responsible for many aspects of the club.  Below are the committees that are established along with the responsibilities that are owned by the committees.

All committees are always looking for more new folks to help out.  Please complete and submit the on-line Volunteer Sign-up Form to volunteer your time and expertise.  Or you may click on the email addresses below to send an email the committee chairperson below.  You may serve on more than one committee - not all committees have the same work load all the time.

Concessions/Hospitality Committee

The Concessions/Hospitality Committee is responsible for coordinating the food, candy & drinks that are available during swim meets.  Hospitality is provided during the meets for coaches and officials since they typically on deck during every session and do not have time to go outside of the facilities to eat.  Concessions are sold to meet participants and their families during meets as a convenience.  Concessions and hospitality are now catered by Louisiana Bayou Bistro.  Volunteers are needed in hospitality to serve food and drinks to the coaches and officials and to make sure that this service is not abused by non-coaches/non-officials.  Volunteers are also needed to assist in the set up of these areas prior to meets.  These areas also report to the Meet Director on progress of set up and coordination prior to meets.  A wristband is required in order to receive food & drinks from hospitality.  These areas are in need of 2 people to chair them.  In the interim please contact Michele LeJeune to volunteer.  Michele's email address is michele@malcolmtravel.com

Electronics Committee

The Electronics Committee  aka "the Booth" sets up and operates the electronic equipment that is used to record race results during each meet.  There are several key positions that require volunteers.  For more information on these positions click here.  This committee is one of the largest committees due to the complexity and nature of the work that it does and is always looking for volunteers to train in order to keep the workload manageable among the committee.  Volunteering on the Electronics Committee guarantees "the best seat in the house" during swim meets.  This committee also reports to the Meet Director on progress of set up and coordination prior to meets.  Please contact Trey Rush to volunteer on this committee.  Trey can be contacted via email webmaster@swimtaq.com.

Meet Officials

The Meet Officials group consists of stroke judges, starters, referees, and clerk of course (when utilized).  This is the most important group of volunteers as they are responsible for conducting swim meets.  Officials also reciprocate with other teams by volunteering during away swim meets.  Training and certification is required to become a meet official and is available via the web by contacting Officials Chairman Tom Peak.  Tom can be reached via email tom.peak@taylorporter.com.
