David Geyer, is now in his third year as Head Coach of the Tiger
Aquatics program. Dave splits his time by working with the
LSU Tigers Swimming and Diving program as well. In three
short years, under Dave’s guidance the Tiger Aquatics program
has improved from 7th in the state to it’s recent 2nd place
finish at the 2009 short course championship
In the water Coach Dave has had multiple top 16 rankings with
his athletes, including Grant Grenfell’s #1 ranking in the
400 IM as a 12 year old. Two athletes have been selected for
the National Zone Select Camp. Four athletes have achieved
NCSA Junior National standards. Coach Dave also trained
Estonia’s Miko Malberg during his post graduate career
leading up to the Beijing Olympics and the 2008 European Short
Course Championships.
Prior to arriving in Baton Rouge, Geyer gathered five years of
coaching experience on the collegiate and club levels. The
Pittsburgh, Pa., native served as an assistant coach at Mecklenburg
Aquatics from 2002-05. Before his three-year stint at Mecklenburg,
Geyer was an assistant at his alma mater of Shippensburg University
from 1999-2001. He helped train all levels of athletes from
developmental to national.
A talented athlete himself, Geyer was a four-time All-American
in relays at Shippensburg. He graduated from Shippensburg with a
bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1999 before receiving his
master’s degree in counseling in 2001. Geyer’s
leadership skills did not go unnoticed as he received the Rick
Marlin Scholarship Award while serving as a team captain.
Geyer is married to the former Lyndi Croft of State College, Pa.
The couple has two daughters, Maddilyn (4) and Kayda (1 year).

Jeannine Malbrough
Head Assistant Coach (junior tigers)

Jeannine Malbrough enters into her
3rd year with Tiger Aquatics in 2010, and coaches the Jr Tigers
group as well as the Masters group.
Jeannine is a recent graduate of LSU
(2005); and a former member of the LSU Swimming and Diving Team.
Jeannine brings to Tiger Aquatics several years of coaching
experience from summer league, middle school, and high school; as
well as being a 3 year varsity letterman on
the LSU Swimming and Diving team, specializing in
breaststroke and IM. She was a member of SEC Championship
team and the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Jeaninine is a native of New
Orleans where she attended Mount Carmel Academy. She was team
captain and a three-year letterwinner. Consensus
all-district, all-metro, all-state selection freshman, junior and
senior years. Zone champion in the 100 breast. Member of high
school state champion squad. Graduated with honors and was also
named a "Who’s Who Among American Students". Presented
President’s PSAT award.
Jeannine has 3 brothers Joey, Garrett, and J.R.; and 2 sisters
Allison and Meghan. Her birthday is 11-13-1984. Jeannine loves LSU
football and baseball!

Kevin Clements

Aquatics is very excited to welcome Kevin Clements on the coaching
staff for the Tiger and Pre-Senior groups. Kevin joined
TAQ last summer, and is also entering his second year as a member
of the LSU coaching staff. This
season, he’ll continue to play a pivotal role in the training
and development of current swimmers on both teams.
Clements, returned to the Southeastern Conference in a coaching
capacity in 2008, six years after concluding one of the most
decorated distance-freestyle careers in the Auburn Tigers’
illustrious program history.
A
14-time NCAA All-American and five-time SEC champion at Auburn from
1999-2002, Clements was a vital component of four SEC championship
teams and the 1999 national championship squad. He set five school
records during his time at Auburn in the 400-yard and 400-meter
individual medley races and 400m, 500 and 1650 freestyle events.
His program-best mark in the 1650 free remains standing today.
During the 2000 NCAA Championships, Clements set an American
record in the 400 I.M. en route to an Auburn high-points award. He
was also the SEC scoring leader at both the 2001 and 2002
conference meets.
Following his sophomore season, the Rowland Heights, California,
native registered top-five finishes in three events at the 2000
U.S. Olympic Trials, including a third-place finish in the 200 I.M.
Clements was also a three-time USA National team member,
representing the squad at the 1999 and 2001 World University Games
and the 2003 World Championships. At the 2001 World University
Games, he earned silver in the 200 I.M. and gold in the 400 I.M.
while also swimming to a World University Games record. At the 2003
World Championships, he reached the finals of the 200 I.M., placing
seventh, and captured silver as a member of the 4x200 freestyle
relay team.
After his stellar collegiate career, Clements swam professionally
for Speedo while training with Michael Phelps and the North
Baltimore Aquatic Club. In 2003, he was ranked third in the world
in the 200 I.M. and recorded the second-fastest 200-I.M. time in
U.S. history. Clements also won the U.S. National championship in
the 400 I.M. at the 2004 Spring Nationals.
Prior to LSU, Clements was an assistant coach with the University
of Maryland from 2005-08 and coached the Terrapins to eight school
records and helped a pair of swimmers become NCAA All-Americans. In
his first year with the Terrapins, he coached Sasha Malanina to an
ACC Championship finish in the 400 I.M. Clements joined the
Maryland coaching staff after a head coaching stint with the Roland
Run Stingrays and Mariners Swim Club.
“I am extremely excited to be working with Adam again, and I
look forward to this upcoming season,” Clements said.
“I feel strongly that we are building a championship
program.”
Clements is married to his wife Jaqi, and the couple has a son,
Chase (1).

Sarah (Manton) Kelley
Coach, Tigers

Sarah (Manton) Kelley is the newest addition to the Tiger
Aquatics coaching staff. Originally from
Covington, Louisiana, Sarah is a senior at LSU majoring in
Sociology with a minor in Spanish.
She started swimming competitively her freshman year of
high school, and also began swimming and coaching
and taught swim lessons for Kehoe-France Blue
Dolphins in the off season (now known as BLAST).
Most recently, she worked with the Paula Manship YMCA,
starting as a lifeguard and quickly moving up in
the organization--coaching the Manship Hurricanes,
teaching group and private swim lessons, and eventually
becoming the Aquatics Coordinator. Sarah is excited
about her new position at Tiger Aquatics, and her future in
the coaching arena. She is a recent
newly-wed, married to Josh Kelley of Houston, Texas.

Garrett Malbrough
Assistant Coach (cubs)

Tiger Aquatics welcomed Garrett Malbrough to the coaching staff in
the Fall of 2009. Garrett coaches the Tiger Cubs group as
well as the Middle School program. A native of New
Orleans and a Jesuit High School graduate ('07), Garrett is
currently a junior at LSU studying Kinesiology with a concentration
in Physical Therapy.
At
Jesuit
Garrett was a four-year varsity letterman member of the varsity
swim team as well as team captain. In addition to winning
threee state titles, he graduated with academic honors as a member
of the National Honor Society and Spanish
National Honor Society.
Garrett is a former member of Crescent City Swim
Club where he won 12 individual states titles and served as the
Junior and Senior Louisiana State Swimming Representative. Garrett
specialized in butterfly and IM.
Garrett has two brothers: Joey and J.R.; and three
sisters: Allison, Meghan, and Jeannine--who also coaches for
TAQ.

Abbey Fernandez
Coach, Paws

Abbey joined the Tiger Aquatics staff in the Fall of 2009
and coaches the Paws group with Anna Mitchell, Reagan Harbour
and Kendall McLean.
The Paws group focuses on taking new swimmers to the next level
of swimming, by teaching all the proper stroke techniques and
starts and turns; in addition to building up strength and
endurance; all while infusing a lot of fun in the process.
Originally from Tampa, FL, Abbey was recruited to Clemson
University for the women's rowing team where she earned 4
varsity letters 2004-2008. She graduated in 2009 as a
double degree, one in English and the other in Sociology, and is
currently in LSU graduate studies working toward a MS in
Sports Management as well as working as a graduate assistant in the
compliance office of the LSU athletic dept.

Anna Mitchell
Swim School Director & Assistant Coach

Anna Mitchell enters into her 4th year with Tiger Aquatics in
2010 as the Manager of the Tiger Swim School program and recently
as one of the Paws group coaches. Anna's encouraging
nature makes her a perfect match for swim school instruction
and Paws coaching. A Baton Rouge local, she will start at LSU
as a freshman in the fall.

Raegen Harbour
Coach, Paws; swim instructor

Raegen started with Tiger Aquatics three years ago as an
instructor of the Tiger Swim School. Currently she also
co-coaches the Paws program while continuing to teach
lessons.

Kendall McLean
coach, Paws; swim instructor
Email
Kendall has been a swim lesson instructor for the past two
years, and has most recently begun to assist coaching the Paws
group. A Baton Rouge native and former swimmer for Tiger
Aquatics, Kendall is also a former member of the U-High swim
team 6th-12th grades. Kendall will be attending
LSU in the Fall.

Missy Wiseman
Office Manager extraordinaire

Missy Wiseman will enter her 4th year with Tiger Aquatics this
year, and has been an integral part of the organization of all of
the TAQ programs each year. Missy manages all administrative
duties for the Tiger Aquatics programs from membership registration
to membership communication. Missy is the info link for
all administrative questions or concerns about the Tiger Aquatic
program. Missy is married to Craig, and has two sons who both
go to Catholic High, Benjamin and Matthew.
